Environmental damages induced by industrialization, population growth, globalization and technological developments gave rise to the concept of “sustainability” as a consequence of worldwide reactions. The fashion and textile industries, which have been significantly influenced by global environmental damages and thus facing the hazard of scarcity of exhaustible sources, have also adopted the concept of sustainability and paved the way for conducting various research on production with natural resources. However, limited number of studies has been encountered in the literature about the preservation and utilization of cultural values that have been threatened by globalization, through sustainability. The notion of preservation and revival of cultural values has also been one of the motivations for the present research. In this regard, the study aims to contribute to sustainable fashion, raise awareness among producers and consumers, bring the cultural values into the use of fashion and textile industries and contribute to the literature and to those making research in this field. In this context, research is application-based design research. As a result, the values that have disappeared to ensure sustainability in fashion and textile have been reinterpreted in today's fashion concept.
